Well, the problem I'm having with the drivers is something impossible to fix with kludge. The most critical problem is called glCopySubTexImage2D (not to mention the half a zillion other driver bugs I have solved by some alternative code) and in current rel drivers the image is first copied to the system memory and then put back to texture (read: dead f***ing slow). That all should be done on the graphic card.
A reliable source at ATI has told me that in the latest developer drivers that problem has been fixed. I dont have the drivers yet and cannot confirm it, but I really, really hope that if the dev drivers works they could be used in the compo machine to show the demos. If the answer is no, I wont die, but it means more beer later on to overcome the vitutus ;)
